MAC Talk

This is my first attempt at blogging. After reading others' blogs for a few years, it is time for me to join the community as an active contributor.

I am excited to join the blogosphere. This will be a great stepping stone to a new medium, one that is becoming more and more prevalent today.

Tech Ed may prove to be one of the most critical courses I take in the MAC program. Not that I would value concept mapping and the textbook by Anderson & Krathwohl any less - never!

To my fellow MAC'ers, I hope you are enjoying this gorgeous weekend. I am gearing up for a long walk on Lake Michigan, soft sand against my feet...

  1. As with many things, we have an *opportunity* to address some important educational issues in ways that will hopefully challenge each of us to think beyond what we've known and seen in the classroom, and to imagine other possibilities (that, in turn, will warrant thoughtful engagement). Here's hoping that we can seize some of those opportunities!
    Enjoy the beach, Joe.

  3. Joe,
I share your love of Anderson and Krathwohl; really. Like you, also, I am looking forward to entering a new sphere of activity via technology as I approach my teaching career. It will be reassuring, I think, to ramp up my capacities in technology by means of this course.
    Best,
    Monte

  4. Hope your beach time was great and that you didn't get the wet, humid weather I got mid-state! Looking forward to seeing where your ed tech journey takes you!

  6. I, too, think Tech ED will end up being a very important class. There are so many possibilities that technology provide us, and I think this class will teach us how to harness all of those possibilities!

  7. I hope you had fun on the beach :) but I also agree with you that this will be an important class. Hopefully it will show us how we can connect technology with the classroom because at the present that doesn't happen that much beyond presentation and such. I'm eager to see how we can use technology in a learning environment.

  8. I couldn't help but laugh a little (not at you, at myself!) when you referred to this class as "Tech Ed," at my middle school they offered classes called Tech Ed but they were our version of "shop class" of "wood shop." Those were some of my favorite classes as a middle schooler and perhaps I should take your use of "Tech Ed" as a sign that I will also like this class.
